What are PM Services and how often do they need to be done?

i) PMA service is known as a preventative maintenance service. It consists of the
following:

  • Engine oil and filter must be changed
  • Grease all fittings
  • Lubricate all moving parts on the truck
  • Check all fluid levels
  • Check all belts and hoses.
  • Check tire tread
  • Blow off dust from truck
  • Lift chains inspected
  • Forks and all mast components inspected.
  • Ensure all safety devices are functioning.

 

ii) PMB service is performed Annually and includes everything in a PMA service in addition the following should be done:

  • Hydraulic Service
  • Transmission Service
  • Differential Service

 

iii) Lastly, in addition to the above services a Annual Lift Device Inspection should be done to ensure your lift truck is able to handle the maximum load that it’s rated to carry indicated on the capacity plate.

iv) Generally, a PMA service should be done according to the manufacturers recommended schedule. If there is no schedule then it should be done at 200 hours. It’s also suggested that the facility conditions and hours of operation will affect this interval. A PMB service will be done annually or after 2000 hours or whichever occurs first. Lastly, the Annual Lift Device Inspection should be done once a year and is legal requirement.

What is the expected response time that could be expected upon placing a service call with your Company?

 Normally, we have a 4 hour window we aim for.
